How Do Repeated Courses Affect CGPA?
Short answer: It depends on the university. Some count the most recent attempt even if it is lower, which is the rule reported for FAST-NUCES. Some drop the old attempt and count the better grade, which is the rule reported for SZABIST. Some mark the repeat as R and drop it, which is the rule reported for Riphah. Read your university page and your handbook before you repeat a course.
Formula
GPA equals total quality points divided by total credit hours. CGPA equals total quality points across all semesters divided by total credit hours. Quality points for a course equal grade points times credit hours.
