What Is a Good CGPA in Pakistan?

Short answer: Good depends on the goal. For most private jobs, 3.00 and above is good standing. For MS admission in Pakistan, 3.00 and above is a common floor. For competitive scholarships and MS abroad, 3.50 and above is the strong band. For Dean's List and medals, 3.70 and above is the usual band. A CGPA that is good for one goal can be below the bar for another.

Formula

GPA equals total quality points divided by total credit hours. CGPA equals total quality points across all semesters divided by total credit hours. Quality points for a course equal grade points times credit hours.
