How to Calculate CGPA With Retakes?

Short answer: It depends on the repeat rule. If the university counts the most recent attempt, replace the old grade points with the new ones and keep the credits once. If the university drops the old attempt, remove the old quality points and credits. If the university marks the repeat as R, drop the old attempt. Confirm your university repeat rule before you calculate.

Formula

GPA equals total quality points divided by total credit hours. CGPA equals total quality points across all semesters divided by total credit hours. Quality points for a course equal grade points times credit hours.
