How Is CGPA Rounded or Truncated?

Short answer: Most Pakistani universities round CGPA to 2 decimals. Some truncate. Rounding and truncation can change a borderline result, for example 2.995 rounds to 3.00 but truncates to 2.99. Confirm your university rule, because the difference can matter for divisions and cutoffs.

Formula

GPA equals total quality points divided by total credit hours. CGPA equals total quality points across all semesters divided by total credit hours. Quality points for a course equal grade points times credit hours.
